With the recent remodel, First Street Bar lost grimy dive bar cred, gained plasma TVs, exceeded expectations with live music, picked up a more youthful following, maintained 25cent billiards, and remained blissfully emerald green. Part of the downtown Encinitas dive bar crawl, First Street is overthrown by twenty-somethings on weekends, but owned by maturing locals throughout the week. Either way, males are the majority in this North County joint.
