BOUND Contemporary Dance with cosponsors McCaleb Dance and Sushi Performance and Visual Art, presents a new monthly series of short evening performances in Downtown’s booming East Village. Bottle Night will feature site specific performances by dance choreographers Yolande Snaith, Leslie Seiters, Sonya Tayeh and Peter Chu. Every FIRST Monday of the month February- May 2008, one artist will present a new dance work that has been adapted to fit the cool, urban-style of Downtown San Diego’s Bar Basic. Also part of the series; dance short films, a performance by Groove On Tap, and others. The show begins at 7:30pm with plenty of time for socializing, drinking and pizza eating between sets. Basic is located at 410 10th Avenue in the East Village. All tickets are Pay-What-You-Can, with the price determined by each patron. The lure of Bottle Night comes from the high caliber of artistry and the performance space itself. An exciting workspace for our artists, Basic was converted from a 1912 warehouse and is left open and raw with original brick walls, high ceilings and industrial garage doors. The event is perfect for patrons who would like to see short and inspiring art performances while enjoying the lively downtown scene. Expect an evening of artful athleticism and social happenings in the East Village!
